I was actually kind of excited for a split-second. This starts off like a decent root beer, but finishes with an aftertaste reminiscent of...rancid butter?
7.6
The added caramel is a nice touch.
3.2
This doc exclusively prescribes cough medicine.
4.6
It says it is "naturally flavored." So, I'm guessing it's the Erythritol and Stevia that give this a fairly synthetic flavor.
8.2
Real sugar tastes surprisingly similar to imaginary sugar.
9.5
Still the king of cream sodas.
7.5
The vanilla is fairly natural. Overall, pretty good.
8.3
Good and frothy. Semi-sweet with an ideal level of spice.
7.2
Great cream soda. Nothing fancy, but quite nice.
Really nice level of sweetness with a peppery finish. No bad aftertaste!
6.9
A new challenger has entered the cola wars.
8.4
Sprecher never disappoints. I would go so far as to say this is the best grape soda of all time.
3.6
Maybe it's because I don't play League of Legends, but the "taste of +XP" is eerily similar to industrial cleaning products.
6.8
A more-peppery-than-usual cola with a decent balance of spice and flavor.
Surprisingly refreshing. Has the bite of a cola with a clean finish.

Oof

Just as good as, if not better than, a Sonic Cherry Limeade.
"Vanilla" can often taste synthetic in colas. This is a welcome exception.
Cherry Coke beats regular Coke; the canned variety is no exception.
Taco Bell fountains are surprisingly consistent.
The second best Sprecher, just behind the cream soda.
10
Chick-fil-A calibration can't be beat.
9
Taco Bell calibration is the best.
Mexican bottle with real sugar?! Yes, please!
6
Pretty good. Woold be better with a bit lesser bite.
Sweet, sweet, Sprecher. You can do no wrong. This cream soda is full of flavor with sweetness to match. This has taken the top spot for cream sodas.
8.7
Maybe I'm just exhausted or maybe Filbert's makes a pretty tasty root beer. Thanks for something I can enjoy that's not deep dish, Chicago.
The California state drink might be wine, but they do beer quite well. This above-average root variety is no exception. River City has a decent amount of bite and is fairly creamy. Overall, I would like a bit more flavor.

As a child, my distrust of adults started when doctors told me how good certain medicines would taste. This Americana Honey Cream takes me right back there. This tastes like it could cure what ales you, but why bother flavoring it?

Land of 10,000 lakes and pretty decent root beer. Spring Grove Root Beer is a pretty good offering in terms of flavor. It could certainly be a bit more smooth and I feel like there's just no aftertaste, pleasant or not. The #minnesoda hashtag is obligatory.
8.5
Happy Father's Day to all the dads that, like Stewart's (excluding their diet offering), never let us down. This Cherries 'n Cream is a pretty solid cherry soda. It's full of flavor, is quite sweet, and tastes natural.
8.8
Boylan makes a pretty solid cream soda. Fair amount of vanilla flavor, not too synthetic, and good caramel finish. I could definitely put this in regular rotation. Creme-de-la-cream.
5.5
Fentimans is now 0 for 2. This has a great cherry flavor that is fairly organic (botanical?), but the cola base is just too spicy. Like the foolish man who built his house upon the sand, this one needs a better foundation.
Not bad, Sioux City. This birch beer is way better than their sarsaparilla offering. It's rooty without being too earthy. Good sweetness to balance it out.
9.2
This Butterscotch Beer is approved by the Ministry of Magical Foods & Drinks. It's also approved by the Single Guy of Soda. It tastes like a wizard melted down a butterscotch and carbonated it.
While in Texas, I decided to try the 1891 Red Cola from TX's own Dublin Bottling Works. The cola flavor is nice, crisp, and refreshing. The "red" portion leaves a little bit to be desired. It's a bit too sharp, but, at least, doesn't taste synthetic.
Dang, that's good "Dang! That's Good Butterscotch Root Beer." I'm always suspect of a brand that hypes itself. Can you imagine if my handle was thegreatestsodaguyofalltime? Still, this lives up to the name. The root beer flavor is still present under a very bold butterscotch taste. Even though it's a lot, each flavor really finds a place for itself.
6.6
Americana isn't quite the Route 66 of root beers. For such a great name, I'd have hoped for better. The flavor is nearly there, but lacks the sweet and smooth caramel flavor for a perfect root beer.
7.3
This may be a "good one" for Sam Elliot, but it's an "ok one" for me. Sioux City makes a decent attempt here because it has the right amount of bite and carbonation, but the flavor just isn't balanced.
Virgil's Cream Soda has a taste as classic as the name "Virgil." Strong vanilla flavor and creaminess make this a solid choice for any soda fan. #sodasunday #virgilscreamsoda #creamsoda #soda #sodapop #craftsoda #thesodaguy

I know a lot of these spring breakers are drinking actual cough syrup, but I'd prefer that flavor not show up in my soda. Big Red has some very synthetic tastes floating around in it.
9.3
I went full Savage Garden on this Cherry Cola by Sprecher. The cola flavor is bold, but not too spicy. The cherry tastes quite natural and is well-rounded. So, it might be a change of pace if you are used to more artificial/medicinal cherry flavors. Thanks for the recommendation, @lickalator !
Fentimans Curiosity Cola is a pretty solid cola recipe, but it is a tad spicy. If they knocked the ginger down a bit, this would be a go-to cola.
Frostie Vanilla Root Beer is like an 80/20 root beer / cream soda. It has a very bold vanilla flavor while maintaining that tangy root beer aftertaste.
Frostie Cherry Limeade tastes almost exactly like Sonic's Cherry Limeade. Cherry is natural instead of medicinal (sigh of relief). Lighter carbonation makes for a nice balance with this crisp flavor.
Brownie Caramel Cream Root Beer has to be the most buttery root beer I have ever had. The caramel flavor is very nice and creates a taste reminiscent of butterscotch. It's not a typical root beer, but it is a bold one that I enjoy. #sodasunday #brownierootbeer #rootbeer #soda #sodapop #thesodaguy

Though the first letter in IBC stands for "Independent," this one is made by a soda behemoth. Dr Pepper Snapple's root beer is a classic. While I tend to enjoy a creamier flavor, this recipe (cane sugar) has a robust taste and just the right amount of bite. #ibc #ibcrootbeer #rootbeer #soda #sodapop #thesodaguy
Soda Sunday! I absolutely love Hank's Root Beer. It has the standard caramel and vanilla flavors found in most decent brands, but it is just so creamy. This one goes down so smoothly that I was in need of a second one within minutes. #sodasunday #hanksrootbeer #rootbeer #soda #sodapop #thesodaguy
Today's soda is a gift from @sonnyharding. Macfuddy Pepper Elixir is a bold soda that is aptly named. With a great cola flavor and notes of cherry, the only thing preventing this from being a great session soda is a very peppery finish. If Dr Pepper lost his medical license, he'd be making these in the alley. #macfuddy #pepperelixir #soda #sodapop #thesodaguy
Can't, uh, beat, uh, Abita. Despite a slightly strange aftertaste, I enjoyed this creamy root beer. It won't be a staple, but it will do. #abita #rootbeer #soda #sodapop #thesodaguy

I was hopeful about Dad's Cream Soda because I am a fan of my actual dad. It, however, failed to support me in my time of need. The flavor is too medicinal to taste much of anything else. #dads #creamsoda #soda #sodapop #thesodaguy

Today, for Soda Sunday, we have O-Zell Root Beer Float. Good caramel flavor, but could certainly be stronger. I'd drink it again, but would love a boost in the vanilla department.
Starting this out with one of my favourites. Frostie makes a great root beer with a classic taste. Great caramel flavor, perfect sweetness, and never ventures into medicinal territory.
